Vinita Nair
In July of 2004 she joined the station and covered a variety of news stories, including the probe into the death of Jon Benet Ramsey and the shootings in Bailey, Colorado. Nair began her career as an ABC News anchor/correspondent in December 2007 and was working for ABC News Now. In that role she hosted live coverage as well as news briefs on ABC's network on the internet. Nair was co-anchor of World News Now and America This Morning on ABC starting on September 17, 2008 from September 17, 2008, until February 18, 2011. On both of these programs, Nair was partnered initially alongside Jeremy Hubbard. Later she co-anchored the show with Rob Nelson. Nair made it clear on Thursday 17 February 2011 her last night broadcasting at World News Now would be the evening of Friday, 18th February. She announced that her last day at ABC News would be Friday the 18th of February. The former KDVR Denver anchor Peggy Bunker was her direct successor. The issue of February 18 on World News Now paid tribute to Nair in all three segments, including appearances by current and former colleagues, including Jeremy Hubbard. Nair treated her crew to breakfast that was hot during her last day.
